KRV - ANIME FEST - 2009
Update!
Final arrangements for the Kern River Valley's very first Japanese
Anime Fest will be worked out starting Monday Jan 5th and throughout the following week.
On Monday I will meet with Mandy (the facilities management) to discuss many of the remaining issues. Afterward, I will be touching base with Industry contacts, contributors, and local businesses. If everything goes well, I should have all the details listed on the web site no later than Jan 15th. That will give us a little over a month and a half to advertise and get folks excited!
The "two day" festival is scheduled for the first weekend in March 2009, and will be conducted at the REEL CINEMA, in Wofford Heights, CA.
Don't forget, its going to be one heck of a party! We're going to have contests, quizzes, raffles for great prizes, screenings and much much more.
A Fresh Start

| A few participants gather for a photo-op |
November 29th 2008, turned out to be a pretty special day. It marked the first time our anime club ever held a meeting outside of my living room, and the first meeting of its kind ever held inside the Reel Cinema's auditorium.
The meeting began a little late in order to accommodate a few stragglers. However, when screening time actually rolled around, several of the club's "old-timers" (including yours truly) became more than just a little emotional. We were awestruck, jubilant and overcome as we watched the opening of Angelic Layer's first episode on the massive silver screen. It was great!
Before the end of the meeting we held a "ticket drawing" that we used to hand out Manga sampler novels supplied to us (for free) by Viz media.
Thank you! to the Reel Cinema's management, and to Viz for making this a memorable fresh start.
Glitch In The System
On Sonday November 23, the servers at EhostPros locked up and so did our web site. Nothing seemed to be working correctly. Even email service was bouncing all over the place. Somewhere around 9:00 pm the evening of the 24th, I received a note saying that everything was operating correctly again. I have yet to check each little aspect of our site's account, but at least browsing and modifying the site is working again.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this problem may have caused.
